House of Nobel Trophy
The headline event for Sunday's polo was the House of Nobel Trophy. The newly launched champagne House of Nobel was the match sponsor with Nobel Rose taking on Nobel Blanc. The Champagne was created by Rolling Stones tour manager Michael Gruber. In a fantastic match the Nobel Blanc team took the win after exchanging the lead with Nobel Rose twice in the fast paced encounter.
The teams were presented with their Nobel Champagne prizes by Richmond Park MP Zac Goldsmith and House of Nobel founder Michael Gruber.
Ladies Cup
The first annual HPC Ladies Cup got off to a flying start on Friday evening with the first two games. The teams were made up of three lady players with one male player allowed. The male player was not allowed to take penalties or score goals. First up Pink Panthers took on Ali Katz. Pink Panthers helped by stable manager and professional Juan Cruz Araya Martelli were victorious over Ali Katz with a slim half goal advantage. In the second game Where there is a Will.. stormed to the win over Ham Hunnays.
For Sunday's final Where there is a Will.. joined the field with Pink Panthers for an epic final. Both teams utilised some great team play to keep the scores close throughout the final. It was Healy with his teammates of Hannah Firman, Katharine Smithwick and Lucy Dowie who took the victory in the final chukka. The cup, a silver polo helmet was duly filled with celebratory champagne and teams were presented with a bevy of prizes. We look forward to the next instalment of this great new tournament next year.
Best playing pony was awarded to Encantada played by Lucy Dowie and owned by Will Healy
