Meet British Forces Team Captain Mark Cann, and his team...Thursday, Sept 15th at Sovana Bistro 5-7 pm in Kennett Sq, PA.
As Director of The British Forces Foundation as well as his own Events and PR Company, Mark is also Director of The Burma Star Memorial Fund.
His army service began with the 17th /21st Lancers and then 12 years with The Queen’s Royal Lancers. His service took him on operations in Belize, Mozambique, Bosnia, and Cyprus. He then served as an active reserve for 2 years and remains a reserve ever since. As Director of The British Forces Foundation, the UK equivalent to USO, he specializes in large entertainment events and has visited every war zone British and American forces are deployed.
His sports passions are polo, tennis, and skiing. In polo, he has played in numerous locations including Palermo, Palm Beach, Ghana, India, South Africa, Pakistan, and of course Brandywine Polo. He has played on the East Coast many times and has been instrumental in keeping a wonderful 50-year exchange with East Coast polo going from across the pond. He is lucky enough to have played many times with HRH Prince of Wales and his two sons in the British Forces Foundation and Highgrove teams.
Mark is married to Emma with three children. They live in Wiltshire, England with the head of the household – Betty, a Jack Russell.
